I’m a big believer that before we start creating and dreaming for the new year, it’s equally as important to take a moment to reflect on the past 12 months. I certainly haven’t found the perfect way to do this, and it’s always evolving, but I’ve also learned over the years to strive for progress over perfection (something I’m still working on!).

To finish this year off, I went camping with some friends in Big Sur over the New Year. We grabbed some wine while sitting around the campfire and looked back at our 2018, laughing, celebrating and planning for 2019. They didn’t know it at the time, but I geeked out and gifted them some journals to capture the experience. Do you have any end of year rituals that you love?

In 2018, I made some fantastic strides with my business with room to improve in the New Year. I went through my CTI coaching certification course, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I learned so much about myself and how to be a better coach as well as some new frameworks for how to coach the “whole” person. CTI definitely gave me confidence, a new respect for the power of coaching, and I learned what I do and don’t like. It’s amazing how one decision can change the trajectory of your life.

On top of incredible lessons learned through CTI, I made invaluable connections and friendships. I can’t express how much finding your tribe of like-minded people is so important throughout both your professional and personal journey. I truly believe that I found my “people” at CTI, and I had a blast!

I also realized that I missed face to face interaction on a daily basis, so I’m going to look into a co-working space in 2019. Big moves coming!

I love how a new year holds so much possibility to create what we want. It’s a do-over, a blank slate, a new page to be filled with whatever we want. I’ve decided to approach this year by looking at my holistic self. In coaching, I call it the wheel of life, and it’s the understanding that everything is connected. If I’m to step into my power as a leader and as a coach in 2019, I have to look at where I want to be not only in my business but also in regards to my health, relationships, personal growth, and mindset.

All in all, 2018 was an excellent way for me to truly build my confidence as a leader and coach, learn new tidbits about coaching as a whole, and meet incredible people in the process. Like any year, it’s a great way to measure how far I’ve come, and I look forward to reflecting on this coming year in the future. 2019 will be a great year to challenge myself and utilize everything I’ve learned. I can’t wait to see where it goes!

Happy 2019, friends!
